Core Programs
Ongoing supports that connect Black-owned businesses to resources, guidance, visibility, and systems-level improvements.
Core Programs Overview
Core Support Programs are BBN’s year-round supports designed to meet Black-owned businesses where they are. This work includes convening and coordination, systems change and policy translation, and direct business support through tools, resource navigation, and one-on-one guidance.
How Core Support Works
MN Black Business Roundtable
A statewide convening that brings Black-led organizations and economic development partners together to align priorities, share intelligence, and strengthen a collective voice for Black entrepreneurs.
Key outputs: meeting summaries, shared priority list, State of Black Business in MN Brief, aligned advocacy agenda.
Systems Change & Policy Translation
We identify patterns in barriers businesses experience—like confusing requirements, delays, and drop-offs in grants or loans—then translate those insights into practical process improvements. BBN works with agencies, funders, and intermediaries to recommend remedies and pilot changes that make systems clearer and more accessible.
Key outputs: process maps, recommendations, and pilot improvements with partners.
Vendor Support
Direct, case-by-case support for Black-owned businesses preparing for events (including BBN opportunities) and navigating operational needs— including 1:1 technical assistance and vendor readiness guidance.
Key supports: prep guidance, navigation, troubleshooting, and referrals.
BBN Resource Library
A digital hub of templates and guides, plus weekly-updated funding opportunities—including grants and RFPs—to support business readiness and growth.
Key supports: templates, guides, funding tracker, curated resources.
